Did you know you can register to vote by absentee ballot? It's super simple, Call (307) 777-5860 to ask for an absentee ballot. Within a week or two, a ballot is sent to your home. Fill in the bubbles at home while your kids nap.
Remember the charge from the first Presidency: "We urge you to register to vote, to study the issues and candidates carefully and prayerfully, and then to vote.”
My “being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law” (Articles of Faith 1:12). Because we are subject to rulers, we must do all we can in diplomatic, legal, and supportive ways to select and help elect officials who are honest, wise, and good (see D&C 98:10).
I really REALLY like Darin Smith.
A few highlights from his platform:
LIFE As Dr. Seuss states in Horton Hears a Who, "A person's a person, no matter how small" (or how sick). Darin Smith believes in and will defend the sanctity of life, from the unborn to the most elderly and vulnerable.
CONGRESSIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Hold Congress accountable to serving the people instead of putting themselves above the people. By ending federal pensions for Congress and forcing legislators to rely on the Social Security system that most Americans do, legislators will have the incentive to shore up Social Security because it directly affects them. Also, Darin will support the bill already before Congress to dock members’ pay 10 percent each year they don’t balance a federal budget. Darin Smith will not be taking a federal pension upon his election because he feels it is immoral.
Check out his "Issues" page to see more of what he stands for.
