Feeling Heavenly Father's Love -- A Spiritual Feast

These last few weeks have been a worldly fast and a spiritual feast.

In an effort to "put on my own oxygen mask" before helping others and to go vertically to Father for guidance instead of seeking approval of others, I realized that, for a time, I just needed to spend time feeling loved and at peace; living in joy. This looked like:

listening to hymns or instrumental uplifting music only

a break from the computer

a break from the gym

a break from running errands

reading and listening to scriptures

several days fasting

journaling

priesthood blessings

a temple visit

spending time just being

playing with Milah and Brielle

meditation

walks outside in the sunshine

prayer

My Divine Self

I learned about myself – my Divine Self (my Spirit) – and my relationship to Heavenly Father. I know that He offers us His light. When we allow more light, receive His light, and fill with His light, we partake of His love. His love gives us peace that resonates through our entire soul.

These eight words are all synonyms, so when we fill with His light, we also fill with:

Light

Life

Love

Glory

Intelligence

Truth

Knowledge Spirit

I want to share two of my favorite hymns I discovered during my spiritual feast:

He Shall Feed His Flock Like a Shepherd

He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; and He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and gently, ever so gently, lead those that are with young. (Isaiah 40:11) Come unto Him, all ye that labour, come unto Him that are heavy laden, and He will give you rest. Take His yoke upon you, and learn of Him, for He is meek and lowly of heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

His Voice As the Sound

His voice, as the sound of the dulcimer sweet, is heard through the shadows of death; The cedars of Lebanon bow at His feet, the air is perfumed with His breath. His lips as the fountain of righteousness flow, that waters the garden of grace, From which their salvation the Gentiles shall know, and bask in the smile of His face.

Love sits in his eyelids and scatters delight, through all the bright regions on high. Their faces the cherubim veil in his sight, and tremble with fullness of joy. He looks and ten thousands of angels rejoice, and myriads wait for His word. He speaks and eternity filled with His voice Re-echoes the praise of the Lord.
