The Empowerment Project #4 - Combatting Satan

When negative thoughts enter into your mind, write them down. These could look like "I am always late" or "I am too heavy" or "I am impatient." Whatever Satan is whispering in your ear, write it down; tell him you will not listen to him. We have been taught that we can't just wish our bad thoughts away, we have to replace them with good ones (see Elder Packer, Inspiring Music). So, for each of these negative thoughts you've written, create an inverse positive thought. Examples are "I am on time" or "I am comfortable in my body" or "I am patient with myself, my husband, and my children while we are all learning." This is one way to directly combat Satan and get his influence out of your life.

As you start this journal, you'll start to see patterns of negative thoughts that come up more frequently than others. Add these thoughts to your story and overcome them!

*Funny story, my mentor has a mentor. He swears when you start to overcome these thoughts yourself, others will come tell them to you. When someone told him "you're always late" he actually pulled out his "negativity/positivity journal" and said "you know, I've been feeling like I should work on that lately, see?
