Floral Design Tutorial -- Creating Tall or Wide Arrangements

We have hundreds of sunflowers growing on the side of our prairie road. They're gorgeous!

I wanted to make an arrangement with them in this awesome sunflower pitcher from my mom, but it was super wide so they just flopped over and bunched together.

I remembered back to my floral design class at BYU (wasn't my major the best?); they gave this simple tip for arranging tall or heavy flowers or using a wide-mouthed vase. Use floral tape to make a grid over the top of your vase (I just had scotch tape, but it worked too!) then use the grid to place your main, tall, focal point flowers. Fill in with other, smaller flowers until there aren't any gaps between those anchor point flowers. I loved the result!
